1. ALKYLPHENOLS (AP)/ ALKYLPHENOL ETHOXYLATES (APEO):
Alkylphenol (AP) and alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO) are auxiliary chemicals used in different industries.They are good emulsifiers and wetting agents. They are extensively used as detergent auxiliaries in scouring andbleaching process of fibers for removing fiber impurities such as wax, seed, etc. in textile wet processing. Since NP & NPEOs are non-biodegradable, they cause severe environmental problems if released to the environment as discharges or emissions. They are potent endocrine disrupters to the aquatic environment and can cause feminization in male fish.
